The Newest Carlton

This morning as Cooper was headed to the bus, he found a turtle under the gate leading into our courtyard. He pleaded with Ben to keep the turtle safe while he went to school. Ben agreed and put him in a bowl. That afternoon, as Ben was putting together our lawnmower in the garage, Cooper ran from getting off the bus and said "Where is he?" Ben asked "Who?" Cooper replied "Jeffrey, my turtle!" Well, Jeffrey's time with us was almost short lived. Cooper got into trouble for not listening while doing homework so Ben told him that he was returning Jeffrey to the ditch behind our house. Off Ben went and Cooper cried and cried. Ben felt bad and ended up going back to rescue the turtle from the ditch. Guess it was meant to be that Jeffrey was still there! Ben went to Petco to get some food and a home.

After soccer and a nap, we headed to Nana and PawPaw's house. We were celebrating the birthdays of Michael, Shannon and Mimi with a crawfish boil.

Cooper and I finished at the movie just as Kyleigh was finishing nap time at school. She was so excited for us to come get her. We finally had some sunshine so we decided to head to the park to enjoy the outdoors.

Cooper was out of school for the Mardi Gras holiday. I told him it was his choice how we spent the day. He decided that we would have breakfast at Waffle House. He was so sweet, even got up from his side of the booth to come sit by me. After breakfast, we headed to the movies to see Journey 2. The movie was better than I thought it would be and I loved listening to Cooper laugh! I will cherish these sweet moments forever!

Krewe of Orion Parade and Ball

Chad and Laura invited us to join them at the Krewe of Orion Ball this year. Ben and I have lots of history with Mardi Gras (met there, engaged there) however this was the first Ball we have been to. After the Denham Parade was over, we headed to downtown Baton Rouge to catch the parade.

DS Mardi Gras Parade

Happy Mardi Gras! Today was the Denham Springs Parade and we rode on Big Mike's float. Kyleigh LOVED riding in the Christmas Parade and was super excited about today. It was cool and very windy but we all had a great time!
