Cooper has spoken

Making sure his little sister leaves his school iPad alone...

Carlton Ortho is back!

It is hard to believe the progress that the office has made! Even after all the devastation, it will only be 2 weeks that we were not able to see patients. Through the generosity of 3 colleagues, we are able to see our patients in temporary locations 3 days a week. We will be at Fruge Ortho in Denham on Wednesdays, Sherman and Balhoff Ortho in Central on Thursdays, and Hiller Ortho in Baton Rouge on Fridays. We are mobile ready and have all of our patients rescheduled! Here is to continuing to create beautiful smiles...

New vehicle for me

Making the best use of his time while waiting to buy my new vehicle...
Didn't take her long to get comfortable in my new vehicle...
Glad to have my own wheels again...

Sad to see it go

Although it was time, definitely sad to see it go...
Never loved a vehicle like that one! Until I can get another one...

A new school

Our family had a tough decision to make. Where to send our kids to school? Livingston schools were still getting a gameplan together for how they would fit all the kids into the schools that weren't damaged. We learned this weekend that Juban Jr High would be an early school, while Lewis Vincent would remain on their same schedule. This with us living in Baton Rouge, and me working in 3 locations, while trying to put the office and house back together. We had a family meeting and decided that we would enroll the kids in Parkview. It was 10 minutes from our rent house and the kids would be on the same schedule. Also, school was already in session for Parkview so the kids could get back to some type of normal routine. Parkview was so welcoming to us! The kids felt very comfortable after their first visit there.
So proud of these kids as they leave for their first day at Parkview...

Saying Goodbye...New Beginnings

It was bittersweet but we said our goodbyes to the Templet family last night. We can not begin to thank them enough for their generosity. 6 humans and one cat literally showed up in their driveway with a few duffle bags, not knowing how long they would have to stay. They took us in with open arms. They loved on us and the kids during our lowest of lows, truly seeing us in some of our hardest moments. We remember what it felt like to be the ones providing shelter when the Olivier's lived with us after Hurricane Katrina. It was humbling to be the ones needing and asking for help this time. They never made us feel like house guests, always treated us as one of their own. We will forever be grateful! Much love to Cory, Annie, Lauren and Luke for all that they did for our family!

Greystone Social

The four of us went to the Greystone social tonight. It was great seeing everyone and getting to catch up with our neighbors! Love how our community is coming together during this terrible time!
Love us some Rachel and Peter!..

Making Progress

Demo on the office is continuing and our server is almost finished being rebuilt...
These ladies right here have been my rock through this all! They took on the job of helping Ben and I with the office and our home. They made things happen when I didn't have the stamina to go anymore. I can never thank them enough!
We are almost mobile ready...
A well deserved dinner at P-Beau's following all our hard work...

Never say never

Rachel and I went today to get our diaster relief card. Sure didn't think we would be approved, but happy to say that we were!

Best Facetime Ever

We are missing these two so much! However, we are so grateful that they are having a great time in Monroe, away from the devastation at our home and office. Hoping to have our rent house ready for them when they get back into town!
Loved seeing their faces...

Our temporary home

We knew if we sold our house that we would have to live in a rent home for some time while building our new home. Never would have imagined this would be our path, however grateful to have a place to call our own until we can figure everything out. A huge thank you to Aunt Linda and Mrs. Peggy for taking control of getting it all set up. Ben and I did not have the energy or heart to do it.

The Great Flood: Second Sunday

Ben and I went to church this morning. It was great to be surrounded by our church family. It occurred to us yesterday while we were at the house that we had not checked our storage shed. We were hoping that it didn't flood, but due to it's location, figured that it did. We showed up after getting some lunch to find out that it did flood.
