The kids and I had so much fun at VBS last year. I knew I wanted to help again this year and convinced Ben that he should join us. I signed up to be a teacher helper for the third grade and Ben was gonna help with security. Well, several weeks ago, there was a need for another lead teacher in second grade. I volunteered because Ben said he would help me! We had lots to prepare but had so much fun working together on it! It was an awesome week spent together as a family with our FBC family!

Lola turns 2!

Happy Birthday Lola! Hard to believe that she is 2 now!

Madagascar 3 with my sweet boy!

Cooper and I went on a date since I had the afternoon off. He choose to go to the movies and he wanted to see Madgascar 3. He had seen it with Moma G and Martha during their visit but said he wanted to see it again with me. As we were leaving the house, I was telling him how excited I was about our date and getting to spend time together. His response "Mom, we always spend time together. We went bowling, to the waterpark, you come to all my games, we have dinner together every night". Oh how I needed to hear that. I always have "mom guilt" for being so busy with work over the summer. I am so glad to know that he doesn't feel like he is being slighted. As we drove off, he told me "Mom, if this was a real date, I would have to sit in the front with you!"

We couldn't go to Chili's for the Give Back event for PPPP but were happy to get take out for such an awesome cause!

After we got home from church today, Kyleigh was playing before her nap. She took one of my headbands, which she usually wants me to put in her hair. This time I turned around and she said "Mom, look at me. I have a ninnie thing!" I had to tell her it is called a bra and she doesn't have to worry about that for a long time!

Ben and I weren't able to make Cooper's last game as we were teaching VBS. Nana and PawPaw brought him. He finished the season by making a double play!! Caught a pop fly playing pitcher and threw out the runner at second! Awesome season Cooper, we are so proud of you!

Kids Night Out

After Cooper's game, we headed to La Caretta to eat with the Vaughn's and Dunnam's. It was kids night so Mickey and Minnie were there. The kids, except one, took their picture with them. That one kid was Kyleigh :( She was crying that she wanted to go home. I thought she may have made progress but she is still so scared of the characters. Guess trying to convince Ben that we could go to Disney next February for an ortho convention is not gonna happen.

Big Girl Panties

We have made a breakthrough in potty training, all thanks to Kyleigh's school! She has continued to tell us (matter of factly) that she will go to the potty at Christmas time. We are not sure why she picked that time but she had her mind set on it. I have continued to tell her that she will not be able to move up to the 3 year old class in August if she is not potty trained. Until now, that didn't matter to her as she is so headstrong! She moved up to the older 2 year old room at the beginning of June and for whatever reason, she did not want to be in that class. One day I stopped at the office to discuss her dislike of the new class, just trying to figure out what was going on and how to make it better for her. She stayed in the office to help Mrs. Kay while I headed to work. I got a text later that day that they went to Walmart, bought her panties and she had been in the 3 year old class all day, and going to the potty on her own. Wow, whatever the motivation for her was, we will take it! She hasn't looked back, loves her new class and is doing as good as expected with her new bathroom routine!
