12 months old

Kyleigh had her one year checkup on Friday. She is weighing almost 21 pounds and measuring 29 1/4 inches, both put her at the 50th percentile. Her head circumference is 18 1/4 inches, which puts her at the 90th percentile. Her daddy says she gets that honestly from... her mommy :) Here are some things that have happened over the last month:
  • getting her 7th and 8th teeth
  • loving her sippy cup but not ready to give up her bottle (we will tackle that over the next month)
  • finally waving bye bye
  • loves walking with her toy or while someone holds her hands

No AC

As soon as we walked in from the airport on Sunday, Ben realized that one of our AC units was not working. While we were trying to figure out what was wrong with the first one, the second unit quit working. Seriously, both units at the same time? Yes, I am not kidding. So, we called the builder who gave us the name of the subcontractor to call. Of course, they couldn't get there until 7 pm that night and couldn't guarantee that they could fix anything. So, instead of picking the kids up at Nana and PawPaw's, we packed our clothes and headed over to stay ourselves. On Monday, the first AC company got one of our units working but said they were not responsible for the second unit. After lots of talking and not alot of doing by the first company, we finally hired a different company to fix the second unit. They had us back up and running very quickly! We did survive with one unit for a few days due to Ben's genius idea. He hung a curtain on a shower curtain rod in the hallway to keep the cool air on the working side. Cooper got to sleep on the couch, which he loved, and Kyleigh slept in the playpen in our room for those days.Great idea honey but so glad to say the curtain is now gone!..

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! We can't believe you have made one year old. We love you so much!!

This morning, as she woke up and stood up in the playpen, Ben, Cooper and I sang her Happy Birthday. She looked at all of us like we were crazy. Here are some pics of her playing before we all left for work and school:

I am happy when...

Cooper's class made a book that his teacher sent home for us to read together. Love his answer, so sweet...

Like Old Times

Sherry brought Blasia to the Montessori after school on Friday so she could see her old preschool friends. She sent me these pictures of Cooper and Blasia.

LSU vs Vandy Road Trip: Game Day

Game Day!! It was great flying to Nashville but not so great when you get ready to set up your own tailgate. We woke up Saturday morning and realized that we had NOTHING (no chairs, tents, ice chests, etc) to tailgate with. But we made do! After a few stops, we had drinks, ice chests and some snacks. We found a parking spot at Centennial Park near the stadium and were on our way!Tailgating out of the trunk of our rental car...
Now that is the way to travel... Me and my hubby...J and Mike...The four of us at our tailgate...After a while at our "tailgate", we headed to a Sports Bar near the stadium to get some AC, lunch and to watch the other college games on TV...
Painted building near campus...Holding drinks and bags while Mike and J took a bathroom break before heading to the game...
Ready to go in...
All seats entered through one gate, this would never happen in Tiger Stadium?..
Trekking up to row 71 of 75...
You could see more purple and gold in the stadium than black and gold...
Here come the Tigers...
In the stadium...
Tigers win 27-3, singing the Alma Matter...

LOTS of fun. Already planning our road trip next year. Dallas Bound!!
