Arriving in Destin...with a slight detour

Well, as usual, one member of the Carlton Family was not feeling so well as we were packing for vacation. Ben took Kyleigh to Lake After Hours yesterday afternoon because she was complaining of a sore throat and had started running a low grade fever. We both thought she probably had strep throat, so wanted to get antibiotics going before we left today. Strep test came back negative and Ben made sure to ask the doctor if it could possibly be too early to test positive. She assured him that with her throat as red as it was, if she had strep it would show up. So, we continued to give her motrin/tylenol alternating to keep her fever down for the "virus" she had.
While eating at Applebee's in Crestview, all she wanted was to cover up and lay down. Checked her temp and it was 103.5. Ben and I decided to leave and get her to a doctor. As we were driving, I noticed that she had broke out in a rash/hives and was so lethargic. No urgent care anywhere close so we had to take her to the ER. Several tests and hours later, we find out she indeed has strep throat and now a UTI and is dehydrated.
Getting her to eat popsicles so she doesn't have to have IV fluids...
This girl is done with the ER, she was such a trooper when they had to draw blood not once, but twice. Ready to get her feeling better...
We made it to the house around 8 that night. After one round of antibiotic, our happy girl is back and ready for the beach...
It's been one heck of a day, gotta get better than this...

Girls Night

Since the boys left this afternoon for the SEC tourney (and Ky didn't take it very well), I told her we could have a girls night, her choice. She choose to go to Mr. Gatti's. Her mood changed very quickly and that smile I love was back!
