Enjoying the Day

After soccer, the kids and I went home to enjoy a beautiful Saturday, which also happened to be my birthday. Ben played in a golf tournament but made it home for some of the fun.
Loving her Elmo book...
Lola enjoying the sunshine...
Excited that Daddy is home from golf...
Running to see him...
So happy...
Somebody loves her daddy...
My loves singing me Happy Birthday...
One of her favorite pasttimes: playing in the rocks...
Our two girls...
On to the other rock bed...
Blowing kisses...
Love these two...
Lola giving Daddy kisses...
Me and my honey...
Ben was trying granny shots so I thought I would give it a try too...
Flying high...
So much fun....

Soccer has arrived!

Today was our first soccer game. As always, Cooper was filled with anticipation and excitement about the first game. Those emotions had to last a week longer due to last Saturday's rainout. The past few days have been filled with questions like "Is it going to rain today? Will they cancel my game (or practice)? Mom, why does it rain? Why do we need rain? Why can't you make it stop? You get the picture. He told me this morning "Mom, it has been a long time since I had a soccer game!" Yeah buddy, a year! And oh what a difference a year makes, remember THIS? They have changed so much!! Warming up...
Can you tell who can't wait to go in?..
Ky watching big brother...
Getting so big...
Love these action shots... Enjoying the cheese crackers Nana brought her...
He shoots...
and scores!..

Mardi Gras Holiday

Cooper and I had talked about our day off together quite a few times but he hadn't decided what he wanted to do. We woke today and I asked him again. He has been a "homebody" lately so I thought he might say that he wanted to stay home in our PJs. Instead, he said "Mom, lets go do something fun!" I agreed. I asked if he wanted to take Kyleigh with us and he said "Of course". I thought that was so sweet of him. But then he decided what he wanted: Bowling and arcade! Fun, very fun but not with a 17 month old. So, I made a compromise with him. The three of us could go to breakfast at Waffle House, drop Ky off at school for her nap while we bowled, then we could all go home early and play outside! Done Deal!
Ready to bowl...
Our first game...
Being silly...
We both improved on our second game...
In the arcade...
Ky saying either "No no lola" or "Mon (come on) lola", her two favorites sayings...
Lola growling at the kleenex box...
Big boy playing basketball... Sassy girl...
Coop playing with Lola...How sweet...

Get off Automatic!

I have been hearing for some time "If you want to shoot great pictures, you have to get off automatic." I love the new camera Ben bought me for Christmas but know I am not utilizing it to its full capacity. So, Julie and I went to a "camera" class this morning at Kadair's. It was so much information and pretty overwhelming. I am gonna start practicing and see what kind of pics I can get. I used one tip that was easy on trick photography: a ghost image.
My subject was not very still (he was playing a video game) therefore I got multiple "ghosts" but you get the idea...

Stay tuned...although you may be waiting a while :))

Tori's Birthday Party

Today we went to Tori's Bowling Party! Cooper has been asking to go bowling so he was ready for this party. Coop and Ky loved all the music! They had lots of fun!Kyleigh with Nana...

Girls Basketball

Even though it was late in the season, we got hooked on going to the Denham High School Girls Basketball games. We saw one of their last district games then watched them through the playoffs. Ben and Kyleigh made it to the first couple then Cooper and I made it "our" dates for the last couple. Kyleigh at the Ouachita game, Aunt Amanda and Aunt LeighAnn's alma matter...
At the Top 28 tourney at Southeastern...
Julie, member of the '96 state champion team, keeping the books...
